唐芝妍,輔大英文系畢。曾雙主修新聞系,大四那年第一次站上舞台演戲後踏入劇場表演。近年成為三缺一劇團的行政,並在創作和表演的路上持續探索。對成人童話、另類偶戲、文學改編戲劇作品感興趣,並且關注底層人物或女性遭受壓迫、貧富差距、性暴力、青少年自我探索等議題。與劇團合作,例如與木子遊藝室合作《製造女孩》、於泛華讀劇節與讀演劇人合作《驚山鳥》;2018年則與盜火劇團合作《轉校生》。亦嘗試參與偶戲,例如嚐劇場推出的《古林肯比》系列偶戲,2020年參與壞學長劇團《厝內 tshù-lāi》。
創作部分,於2017年時與藝術家于恩平、演員柳璇共同創作30分鐘的魔幻短篇戲劇作品《磨牙》,由表演者的肢體與一顆偶頭交織成的詭異畫面來講述一個男人與他的焦慮,並共同接續發展出另一篇輕鬆偶戲小品《林禹阿北》於草草藝術節演出。同年與桃圍工作室合作共同創作《南南》互動式演出,在桃園大廟及市場周圍與觀眾一對一走訪舊街區。
文學改編戲劇作品,例如無幕劇團2019年作品《生活的全盤方式》,改編自當代馬華文學代表性作家黎紫書的短篇小說,並從2019年開始參與Joseph Spinn Art Troupe製作的《絕魂》系列展演作品。
自17年起陸續與三缺一劇團合作,目前為劇團兼職行政,亦參與劇團製作、內部戲劇發展,2021年演出《陌生海》。
Graduating from English Department at FJU, Chih-Yen Tang has also double-majored in the Department of Journalism and Communication Studies, but when she first performed on stage in 2015, she immediately decided to dive into the theater performing field. She is currently both actress and the administrative staff of One Player Short Ensemble, exploring all the way through creating, performing and acting. Interested in works focusing on adult-oriented fairy tales, puppetry and whatnot, she pays her attention to figures of oppressed class, female’s dilemma, wealth gap, sexual aggression and teenagers’ self exploration. In 2017, she started to cooperate with troupes: A New Lease of Life by the Wood Child Theater, The Startled Mountain Bird in World Sinophone Drama Competition Play-Reading Festival with the Cyclops Troupe, Transfer Student by the Voleur de Feu Theatre. She has also got involved with puppetry such as Gullinkambi by Bon Appétit Theatre and Tshù-Lāi by Bad Guys Theatre.
As for creating, Chi-Yen Tang collaborated with the puppet maker En-Ping Yu and the performer Rita Liu to create Moya (Grinding Teeth), a 30-minute performance in the darkness about a man and his anxiety, in which performers animate their bodies as the extensions of the puppet head’s to create strange imagery. And they further created another short piece of work, Rainy Day, invited to The Grasstraw Festival. In the same year, she cooperated with Tao Way to create an interactive performance, Nan-Nan, accompanying the audience to stroll around old blocks and traditional markets in TaoYuan.
As a result of enthusiasm in literature adaptation works, she collaborated with No Where Troupe in 2019 to adapt representative Chinese Malaysian writer Li Zi Shu’s novel Shēnghuó de quánpán fāngshì into a theatrical performance, and has been cooperating with Joseph Spinn Art Troupe’s The Time Unframe.
Since 2017, Tang has cooperated with One Player Short Ensemble one after another, and joined the ensemble’s development and productions. In 2021, she joined to perform in The Unknown Ocean.
