Intro
The ancient art of mime does not simply refer to non-verbal performances.
Instead, it actually emphasizes more on the refined, poetic body language.
Simply put, mime is a magical form of art that creates space and transforms objects. Not only is it able to conjure up an entire forest, but it also allows an actor/actress to play different characters and to transform him/herself into an ocean. No props are needed — your body and your adventurous imagination themselves will suffice!

Class for Children & Class for General Public
Suggested schedule: 1-3 days (or 2-6 sessions)
Waking up the Body
Mime is a condensed form of physical language, so the first step is to practice how to limber up and learn how to use muscles efficiently, in order to make every part of the body ready to express itself.
Journey of Waves
Everything has its own waves. If we want to deliver the most lively performances, we have to process the most basic of waves, and, step by step, transform them into various “lives”. Therefore, when every part of the body has been awaken, it is time to dive right into the waves of all things in the world, feeling the pulse of their lives.
Creating Illusions
How do we create a seemingly concrete, restrained object or space in an empty room? This is what most people generally think of when thinking about mime. Let us dive right into this fascinating world of magic!
Shots
Before camera was invented, performers created different “shots” using their own bodies. So, how are we able to fade in, fade out, cut in, cut out, zoom in, zoom out, close up and take a long shot through body movements? How is an actor/actress able to play two roles at the same time or to have the audience look at their performance from a different viewpoint? This part of the workshop teaches you how to deal with different shots by using body movements.
Group Creative Practice
We will move from individual creative practices to pair work or group work, and allow students more freedom to choose the topics on which they want to work.
