用莎劇的框架結合島國時空, 透過多層次的敘述,意圖回首轟然消逝的來時路。

 

導演馬汀尼說, 童年時期曾被母親吩咐去買菜回家做晚飯, 歸途上,卻因為抬頭看見家屋頂上那一輪壯麗的夕陽餘暉,而被震懾得動情而忘我, 「後來我回到家,整籃菜卻這麼給遺留在路上了。」 這是一場二〇一八的莎劇在台北,也是一只被置放在夕陽滿天下的豐盛菜籃。 

 

而不得以溫飽的戲子們,仍試著用夢的溫度,溫飽願意來看戲的人。

Life Chatter Between the retired professor and the troupe director

Tin-Ni Ma, the professor who gets away from city and settles down to an idyllic life.

In theater, together they have their says, sing in harmony, and soothe the heartstrings which were out of tune in years of life.

In this play, we integrate Shakespeare’s framework with time and space of this island country with narratives in multi-layers, in attempt to depict the passage of time which abruptly vanished in retrospect.  

As the director Tin-Ni Ma says, her mother asked her to go grocery shopping for dinner when she was little. On the way back home, when she looked up, she was stunned and moved by the breathtaking sunset of rosy clouds up on the roof. “Then I came back, the whole basket was left by the roadside.” It is a 2018 Shakespeare’s Play which takes place in Taipei as well as a sumptuous basket which is left under the gorgeous sunset. 

Troupers, who hardly keep themselves from hunger, try to feast the ones, who are willing come to see the play, with the cozy dreams.

A pampered boy of Hemei manufacturer, Romeo, falls in love with Juliet, a mainland girl grown up in military village. After a gang fight between different ethnic groups, everything are different.

A director who is rehearsing Hamlet happens to encounter Hamlet scenario in his real life.

A heartfelt shelter where they play truth or dare

With the recording project As You Like It, he tries to see through her and her roleplay. With her roleplay, she reveals her heart by accident.

About The Director

導演介紹

馬汀尼

1978年首次登台表演黃建業導演作品《凡人》,同年加入蘭陵劇坊。1983年到紐約進修表演,回台後執教於臺北藝術大學戲劇系及劇場藝術研究所25年,作育無數島內劇場表演人,是傳說中功力高強能使人脫胎換骨的表演老師。於2011年退休,落腳台北市郊享受田園生活,近年潛心譯作契訶夫劇本。於2018年重披戰袍,演出蘭陵四十《演員實驗教室》,並重執導演筒,再次拿起那把劃破現實的小刀。

 

劇場導演作品有1987年《馬哈台北》(與鍾明德合導)、 1989年《雅克和他的主人》、 1991年《三個乖張的女人所撰寫的匪夷所思的女性論文》、 1993年《亨利四世上下》 、1999年《仲夏夜夢》 、2004年《好久不見》 、2006年《威尼斯商人》、 2013年《冬天的故事》;曾演出舞臺劇《荷珠新配》《貓的天堂》《演員實驗教室》《冷板凳》《明天我們空中再見》《祝你幸福》《重新開始》等多部。著有《莎劇重探》,譯作包括《貓脖上的血》《演員與標靶》《凡尼亞舅舅》《三姊妹》《伊凡諾夫》《海鷗》《櫻桃園》等。

專訪:劇場不能混口飯吃 舞台下的真實人生 ┃魏雋展 × 馬汀尼┃

Tin-Ni Ma made her debut in Chien-Yeh Huang’s work Fan-Ren in 1978, and joined Lanlin Theatre Troupe in the same year. She went to New York in 1983 to further her study in theatrical performance. She was teaching in the Department of Drama and Theatre and the Graduate Institute of Theatre Performance and Playwriting, TNUA, for 25 years after she came back to Taiwan. She has raised and educated innumerable performers on this island and was known as a performing master whose skill is high enough to shed the students’ mortal body. She retired in 2011, settled in suburban Taipei city, and enjoyed a pastoral life. She has been concentrating on translating Chekhov’s plays in recent years. In 2018, she returned to the field, performed in Lanlin 40 Experimental Actors Studio. Afterwards, she came to direct again and raised the knife which can pierce through the reality.

延伸演出與活動

2019年受邀至清華大學藝術中心舉辦「表演藝術專題─莎劇在台灣」,包含《莎劇之夜》示範演出,擷取《羅密歐與茱麗葉》與《哈姆雷特》的片段來做示範演出,講解如何使莎劇在地化,翻轉成台灣的脈絡。另外搭配「莎劇表演訓練工作坊暨成果展」,由馬汀尼老師、三缺一劇團藝術總監魏雋展、三缺一劇團團長賀湘儀共同帶領十堂課程,體驗演員如何一步一步建立起身體的存在感還有語言的音韻,同時保有真實自然的情感,走入莎劇的角色中。

In 2019, One Player Short Ensemble is invited to carry out “The Performing Art Project, Shakespeare in Taiwan” by NTHU Art Center. The demonstration performance of extracted pieces from Romeo & Juliet and Hamlet taken place at “The Night of Shakespeare” will explain how to localize Shakespeare’s plays and then intertwine them with historical space-time of Taiwan. Apart from that, the professor Tin-Ni Ma, the artistic director Chun-Chan Wei and the head of One Player Short Ensemble Hsiang-Yi Ho will have 10-session course in “Shakespeare Performing Workshop and Display.” In the workshop, participants can realize how to construct the physical existence and language rhythm step by step, and meanwhile maintain the real and natural emotions while getting into the characters in Shakespeare’s plays.
